A Cabot senior quarterback has signed on the dotted line to play for the Hogs starting next fall.

Jarrod Barnes officially committed to play at the University of Arkansas during Cabot High School’s signing day Wednesday afternoon.

At the ceremony in the campus library, Barnes wore red jeans, a white button-up and a black bow tie that matched the high school's colors. He thanked his coaches, God and his mother, who he said supported him “even when I was down on myself.”

Barnes was named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps Male Athlete of the Year after he led Cabot’s football team to a 10-1 record and a 7A/6A-East Conference championship in the 2015 season.
