Arkansas’ Amanda Wellick, who finished tied for first on the vault with a 9.900 and finished second in the all-around with a 39.300, did all she could but the Razorbacks still lost to No. 4 UCLA 195.700-195.350 at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
Wellick finished second in the all-around to UCLA freshman Madison Kocian, a silver medalist in the uneven bars in the Rio de Janiero Olympics. Wellick also had a 9.825 on the uneven bars.
Arkansas newcomers Hailey Garner had a 9.825 on the uneven bars and balance beam while Jessica Yamzon scored a 38.925 in the all-around, including a 9.800 on the beam.
