Wednesday recruiting tidbits

Class of 2018 defensive back Greg Newsome II of Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Ill. said he's looking to visit Arkansas in March. The Hogs offered him Jan. 17. He also has offers from Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and others.

Arkansas running back commitment Chase Hayden continues to shine on the hardwood. He had 20 points, 10 assists and 6 steals in 69-30 victory over Sacred Heart.

Class of 2017 signee and forward Daniel Gafford had 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a big win over of Camden Fairview.

Class of 2018 commitment Desi Sills led the way with 25 points to help Jonesboro defeat Nettleton 77-45 on the road.

Class of 2018 forward target DJ Weaver of Houston Cypress Falls played 12 minutes and scored 11 points in a 77-55 win over Cypress Ridge. He's slowly getting back into form after missing last year with an ACL injury. He'll play with the 17-under Arkansas Hawks this spring and summer. Arkansas' chances appear good with DJ. His mother is good friends with Mike Conley.

Arkansas offered 2018 athlete Jalen Green of Houston Heights today.

11:26 a.m. update

Receivers coach Michael Smith will make an in-home visit to Brad Stewart's family today because he's at TCU.

His mother doesn't see the visit being a waste of time. She said she and her husband have hit it off Smith and he's like family.

Defensive coordinator Paul Rhoads will make his in-home visit with cornerback commitment Kamren Curl and his family today at 5:30.
