Arkansas coach Jimmy Dykes reacts to a call during a game against Mississippi State on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, in Fayetteville.

The Arkansas women’s basketball team committed 26 turnovers in a Jan. 8 loss to LSU in Fayetteville, and the Razorbacks didn’t fare much better while turning it over 22 times on Sunday in Baton Rouge.

LSU held Arkansas to three points in the game’s final eight minutes to defeat the Razorbacks 53-46 at Maravich Assembly Center.

Arkansas (13-8, 206) led twice in the fourth quarter, the last time coming after an Aaliyah Wilson three-pointer gave the Razorbacks a 43-41 lead with 8:08 left.

Jailyn Mason missed a jumper that would have extended Arkansas’ lead, the Razorbacks missed five shots and committed sevens turnovers over the final 7:02.

The only shot Arkansas made came on a three-pointer by Jessica Jackson that got Arkansas within 49-46 with 3:37 left. Arkansas got stops on LSU’s next two possessions, but Jackson turned it over once and Malica Monk another time to squander opportunities to tie the game.

Jackson scored 15 points and had 8 rebounds before fouling out; Wilson had 8 points.

The Razorbacks shot 36.7 percent from the field, and their 49 field-goal attempts were fewer than in every game this season but the first game against LSU, when they took 46 shots.

LSU (15-6, 4-4), which ended a three-game losing streak, was led by Jasmine Rhodes’ 13 points.

The Tigers shot 39.7 percent (23 of 58), and made 7 of 16 free throws. Arkansas was 4 of 7 from the free-throw line.

LSU scored 23 points off Arkansas’ turnovers; Arkansas scored four points off LSU’s 10 turnovers.

Arkansas made its first four shots from the floor to take a 9-6 lead in the first quarter, and it led 20-13 after the first quarter while making 8 of 11 shots. Arkansas was 10 for 38 while scoring 26 points over the final three quarters.
