Arkansas falls at No. 11 Kentucky

The No. 11 Kentucky gymnastics team finished with a flourish on the floor exercise to cap a dominant victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday night at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky.

The Wildcats won or tied for the title in all four events and had the top three all-around performers in the 196.525 to 195.275 victory over the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

The Wildcats (11-3, 3-3 SEC) snapped a three-meet losing streak against Arkansas and beat the Razorbacks at Memorial Coliseum for the first time since 2011.

Alex Hyland won the all-around with a 39.325, followed by teammates Katie Stuart (39.275) and Sidney Dukes (39.175), with Arkansas freshman Jessica Yamzon finishing fourth at 39.05.

Hyland and Arkansas freshman Hailey Garner tied for the top score on the balance beam with a 9.9, while Yamzon tied Stuart for third on the event at 9.875.

Kentucky’s Katrina Coca scored 9.9 to win the uneven bars, and Danaea Davis took the vault with a 9.875.

Braie Speed gave Arkansas (2-7, 2-5 SEC) a lift in the first half of the meet, with her 9.85 tying three Kentucky gymnasts for third place on the bars. Speed posted a 9.8 on the vault to place third, behind Kentucky’s Davis and Aubree Rosa.

The Razorbacks wrap up the regular season with a tri-meet at Barnhill Arena on Friday against Centenary College and San Jose State.
