Arkansas makes 10th straight NCAA regional

Arkansas earned its 10th consecutive NCAA regional appearance on Thursday, with Coach Brad McMakin’s Razorbacks earning the No. 6 seed for the Baton Rouge Regional.

The Razorbacks will compete with seven more teams from the nation’s top 50 on LSU’s University Course on May 15-17. The top five teams from each of the six regional sites will compose the field for the NCAA championships at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.

No. 6 LSU is the top seed for its home regional, followed by No. 7 Oregon, No. 18 Virginia, No. 19 Duke, Northwestern, Arkansas, Jacksonville and Kentucky.

Also competing in the regional are South Florida, Iowa, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Loyola and Alabama State.

McMakin has led the Razorbacks to 10 NCAA regionals in 11 seasons. Arkansas is coming off its second-best round at an SEC championship after a 12 under at Sea Island Golf and Country Club in St. Simon’s Island, Ga.
