Alabama eliminates Arkansas at SEC Tournament

Alabama scored three runs in the first inning and the No. 15 Crimson Tide eliminated Arkansas with a 4-1 win Wednesday at the SEC Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn.

Bailey Hemphill, Regan Dykes and Sydney Booker all had RBI singles in the first against Arkansas starter Autumn Storms to give the Crimson Tide a 3-0 lead.

The Razorbacks (31-22) scored their only run in the top of the fourth on Nicole Schroeder's solo home run. It was Schroeder's 16th home run, which broke the Arkansas single-season record.

Alabama regained a three-run lead on Hemphill's solo home run in the sixth.

Sydney Littlejohn pitched five innings to earn the win for the Crimson Tide (40-13). Alexis Osorio pitched two shutout innings to earn the save.

Alabama will play No. 11 Texas A&M on Thursday in the tournament quarterfinals.

Arkansas was playing in the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2013. The Razorbacks are unlikely to make the NCAA Tournament, but will learn their fate Sunday.
