Redlicki advances at NCAA Tournament

Arkansas Razorbacks senior Mike Redlicki beat Johannes Schretter of Baylor 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 Wednesday in the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships at Athens, Ga.

Redlicki, 28-10 in singles play his year, advanced to play Texas' Yuya Ito in today's round of 32 match.

Redlicki is the first Razorback to win at the NCAA singles championship since Blake Stroud advanced to the semifinals in 2009.

Arkansas senior Jose Salazar lost his first-round NCAA match to Wake Forest's 6-4, 6-4. Salazar went 30-9 in singles matches this year.

Redlicki and Salazar will play today in the doubles championships against Ohio State's Herkko Pollanen and Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State.
