VIDEO: Mississippi State happy for second chance against Arkansas

Mississippi State coach Andy Cannizaro talks with Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn prior to a game Friday, March 17, 2017, in Fayetteville.

Arkansas and Mississippi State will play in the SEC Tournament on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

It will be the Razorbacks' first game of the week in Hoover, Ala., and a chance for the Bulldogs to show how much they have improved over the past two months.

The teams met March 17-19 at Baum Stadium in their SEC series opener. Arkansas won all three games by scores of 3-1, 5-4 and 6-1, and eventually edged Mississippi State by a game in the SEC standings.

The Bulldogs won seven consecutive games and five straight SEC series after being swept at Arkansas, and featured the league's player of the year, first baseman Brent Rooker, who leads the SEC in home runs (21), batting average (.419) and RBI (75).
