— Daryl Macon swished seven straight corner 3-pointers in the pre-game shootaround before Arkansas’ matchup with Connecticut on Sunday.

The made perimeter warm-up shots weren’t a surprise for a player who entered the day shooting 51.7 percent from deep this year. The hop step backward to set up each shot was noteworthy for the senior guard.

He didn't have any setbacks while moving around pre-game and was able to play two days after rolling his ankle in the second half of the North Carolina game, an injury that sidelined him for the final 14-plus minutes of the 87-68 loss.

Macon didn’t practice Saturday, but was able to go Sunday and wound up playing 26 minutes, scoring 16 points, grabbing three rebounds and dishing two assists.

“I knew last night I was going to play,” Macon said. “I’ve been doing treatment since (North Carolina). Dave (England), like I always say, is one of the best trainers and I knew he was going to get me right for today, so I had a lot of confidence going out.”

Macon returned to his efficient ways against the Huskies after scoring a season-low seven points on 2 of 11 shooting against UNC. He was 5 of 9 from the floor and 2 of 4 from 3-point range.

“I’m in pain right now, but I didn’t feel anything during the game,” Macon said. “I guess I was just hype.”
