Timeline of Bret Bielema's Arkansas tenure

The Bret Bielema era is over after five seasons as Arkansas' football coach. His best season was in 2015, when the Razorbacks won eight games. Here is a look at the notable games and moments during his tenure.

2013

Feb. 3 Bielema tells the crowd at halftime of a men's basketball game against Tennessee that he came to Arkansas not just to compete in the SEC, but to win it, "and that's what we're going to do."

Aug. 31 Arkansas beats Louisiana-Lafayette 34-14 to open the Bielema era at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Sept. 21 The Razorbacks blow a 24-7 lead in the second half at Rutgers and fall 28-24 in Bielema's first loss at Arkansas.

2014

Sept. 6 The Razorbacks snap a 10-game losing streak with a 73-7 victory over Nicholls State at Fayetteville.

Sept. 13 Arkansas scores seven rushing touchdowns in a 49-28 victory at Texas Tech, the Hogs' first over a Power 5 opponent under Bielema.

Nov. 15 Arkansas shuts out No. 17 LSU 17-0 to snap a 17-game SEC losing streak and fans storm the field to celebrate reclaiming the Golden Boot.

Nov. 22 The Hogs shut out No. 8 Ole Miss 30-0 to post the first back-to-back shutouts of ranked teams by an unranked team since 1944.

Dec. 29 Arkansas throttles Texas 31-7 in the Texas Bowl, a victory Bielema later describes as "borderline erotic".

2015

Feb. 7 Bielema signs a letter of agreement that includes a pay raise to $4 million per year with built-in annual $100,000 raises, an extension to 2020 and a lucrative buyout .

Oct. 3 Arkansas snaps an 0-9 skid in games decided by one possession with a 24-20 victory at Tennessee, Bielema's first SEC road victory.

Nov. 7 Arkansas beats Ole Miss 53-52 in overtime in Oxford, Miss., after the Henry Heave and run by Alex Collins and Brandon Allen's 2-point conversion.

Nov. 27 The Razorbacks wrap up the regular season at 7-5 with a 28-3 victory over Missouri and accepts a Liberty Bowl bid.

2016

Jan. 2 Arkansas thumps Kansas State 45-23 at the Liberty Bowl to post the school's first bowl victories in back-to-back seasons.

Oct. 22 Arkansas' 56-3 loss at Auburn is the largest losing margin in an SEC game.

Nov. 25 Arkansas blows a 24-7 halftime lead at Missouri and loses 28-24, beginning a trend that carries into 2017.

Dec. 29 The Razorbacks can’t hang on to a 24-0 halftime lead, the largest blown lead in school history, in a 35-24 loss to Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl.

2017

Oct. 21 Arkansas falls 52-20 at home to Auburn, its seventh consecutive loss to a Power 5 opponent dating to the end of 2016.

Oct. 28 The Razorbacks rally from a 31-7 deficit for a 38-37 victory at Ole Miss to post the largest comeback in school history.

Nov. 11 LSU downs the Hogs 33-10 in Baton Rouge, delivering a school-record fifth loss of 20 or more points in the same season.

Nov. 24 Bielema is fired moments after losing to Missouri 48-45 to finish a 4-8 season.
