Opposing teams provide glimpse at Arkansas' 2018 SEC baseball schedule

Arkansas left fielder Luke Bonfield heads to third against Georgia Saturday, April 15, 2017, during the fourth inning at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas' 2018 SEC schedule is known by looking at schedules for the teams the Razorbacks will play.

Nine of Arkansas' 10 SEC opponents have released their schedules for next season. The Razorbacks are expected to release their schedule some time later this month.

The only SEC opponent yet to release its schedule is South Carolina, which is required to play at Arkansas next season, per the SEC's out-of-division rotation which stipulates teams must play at least once every two seasons.

After SEC play begins, the weekend of April 13-15 is the only available for the Razorbacks and Gamecocks to meet.

Arkansas' SEC season will begin March 16-18 with a series against Kentucky at Baum Stadium. In addition to South Carolina, the Diamond Hogs also will host Auburn Alabama and Texas A&M.

The Razorbacks' SEC road trips will be to Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU and Georgia. The series against Ole Miss (Easter weekend) and Georgia (regular season finale) are scheduled to begin on a Thursday.

All dates are subject to change to accommodate TV broadcast schedules.

Arkansas will not play Missouri, Tennessee or Vanderbilt from the SEC East in the next regular season.

Earlier this week, Arkansas revealed it will play Bucknell, Dayton, Kent State and Louisiana-Monroe at home on dates to be announced. Home games against Missouri State, Southern Cal, Texas and Texas Tech previously have been reported.

Southern Cal is Arkansas' only confirmed weekend opponent for 2018, with games scheduled for March 2-4, according to a game contract. The Razorbacks will play two other weekend nonconference series, but neither are expected to be against Texas or Texas Tech.

The Missouri State game has been scheduled for April 17, according to the Bears' schedule.

Confirmed away games for Arkansas next season are at the Tony Gwynn Invitational in San Diego on Feb. 23-25 against teams to be determined. Other teams in the field for the event include Arizona, Michigan, San Diego, San Diego State, Grand Canyon, Indiana State and Cal Poly Pomona.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to play at North Carolina-Charlotte on March 20-21, according to the 49ers' schedule that was released earlier this week. The teams will play the first game of the midweek series at BB&T Ballpark in downtown Charlotte, home of the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.

Arkansas previously had signed a contract to play Southeast Missouri State on March 20-21, 2018, in Fayetteville. It is unclear whether that series has been rescheduled.
