Brandon Martin sidelined for TCU game

Sophomore receiver Brandon Martin catches a pass in warmups on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

— Receiver Brandon Martin will not play in Arkansas' game against TCU, Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema said Thursday during his weekly radio show.

Martin suffered a hamstring injury during Arkansas' practice Wednesday, Bielema said. The severity of the injury was not disclosed, but Bielema indicated Martin - who does not have a redshirt available - will play again this season.

"When he's ready he'll get back out there," Bielema said.

Martin, a sophomore who transferred from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in January, was used sparingly in the Razorbacks' opener against Florida A&M last Thursday. He was targeted on a pass during a fourth quarter touchdown drive but it was overthrown by backup quarterback Cole Kelley.

Martin is one of at least two receivers who were injured during practice this week. Freshman Koilan Jackson suffered an ACL injury Tuesday that will require surgery.
