— Arkansas received a commitment Monday from a junior college catcher in Texas.

Josh Breaux (6-1, 220 pounds) is a sophomore at McLennan Community College in Waco. He is draft-eligible in 2018 and would play for the Razorbacks in 2019 if doesn't turn pro.

As a freshman at McLennan, Breaux batted .401 with 19 home runs and 82 RBI in 59 games. He had four home runs at the JUCO World Series.

Breaux, a Tomball, Texas, native who was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 36th round of the MLB Draft in June, spent the summer playing for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod League. He batted .271 with 6 home runs and 24 RBI in 35 games during the regular season, and also hit a home run during the playoffs.

He received the Cape Cod League's Silva Sportsmanship Award, which is selected annually by the league's umpire staff.

Verbal commitments are not binding.
