Arkansas hoops pledge Justice Hill to meet with football coach Chad Morris on Monday

Little Rock Christian's Justice Hill (3) attempts a layup past Sylvan Hills' Jamal Johnson (35) during a game at Maumelle High School on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.

— There’s a chance Arkansas fans could see Little Rock Christian standout Justice Hill in both Razorback basketball and football jerseys next winter.

Hill (5-11, 175), who is committed to the Arkansas basketball program, will visit with Razorback head football coach Chad Morris on Monday about playing both sports during his time in Fayetteville.

“I will meet with Coach Morris on Monday and see how they want to combine the two and how that would work out,” Hill said Friday night after leading the Joe Johnson Hawks AAU team to a win at the Real Deal in the Rock.

Hill, who has added 15 pounds of muscle over the last year, will graduate in December and enroll at Arkansas for the second semester.

He plans to gray shirt that first semester of hoops unless he is needed, but obviously could also go through spring practice with the football team if he plays both sports at Arkansas.

“I’m excited about it, but I think I am going to be eager to play once I get up there and see them playing,” Hill said. “I think it is a great situation for me."

He has football offers already from Auburn, Memphis and Howard and would have to be on football scholarship if he plays both football and basketball at Arkansas.

“I’m just enjoying it and seeing how it is all going to play out,” Hill said. “Right now, I am dead set on going to Arkansas.”

Hill returned to the football field last season after not playing as a sophomore.

Previously, Hill last played football in ninth grade as a quarterback, when he passed for 1,267 yards and 19 touchdowns to go with 900 rushing yards and 13 scores on the ground.

Hill was a standout this season for Little Rock Christian with over 2,000 all-purpose yards while playing quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback and free safety.

Hill is slated to be the starting quarterback his senior season.

“We had a coaching change last year at Little Rock Christian and that made me want to go back out,” Hill said. “I just had fun playing last year and I just wanted to play my senior year before I go up to Fayetteville in January. I want to see if we can win a state championship.”

Hill played AAU basketball the past several seasons with Razorback signees Ethan Henderson, Desi Sills and Isaiah Joe.

He is the lone holdover from that group that also played with Mississippi State signee Reggie Perry.

“Our team is still full of talent,” Hill said. “I’m playing with a bunch of guys that I am older than and now I am the leader. I am just embracing that role and trying to elevate their level of play just like I try to elevate mine.”

He is excited about the futures of the Razorback signees.

“I think things look promising,” Hill said. “I know we have some transfers, but we have six people coming in that will all contribute to the team right away. The three in-state guys looked really good playing together in the Mike Conley, Jr. Challenge.

“It was like they have been playing together the last four years, which they have been doing.”
