NOTABLE South Carolina freshman Logan Chapman will start his first SEC game on Thursday. Chapman has started seven midweek games and has taken a no-decision in five. In his most recent outing he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in a 5 1/3-inning outing against No. 22 North Carolina on April 3 in Charlotte, N.C.….South Carolina shortstop Jonah Bride, who leads the Gamecocks’ everyday players with a .322 batting average, is making a homecoming of sorts. Bride is from Owasso, Okla., about a two-hour drive from Fayetteville….South Carolina freshman designated hitter TJ Hopkins (finger) and junior center field Noah Campbell (hand) are unlikely to play. They have started 23 and 20 games this season, respectively….South Carolina is playing in Fayetteville for the first time since 2014. The Gamecocks played eight series at Arkansas between 1996-2014….Arkansas is 18-2 in games played at Baum Stadium this season and has won 10 straight at home….The Razorbacks have not hit a home run in three consecutive games, but lead the SEC and are second nationally with 56 this year. Arkansas is 16 home runs ahead of its pace from a year ago when it led the SEC with 83.
