Hogs ride high atop Clay's list

Collin Clay

— Arkansas made quite the impression this weekend on one of the best prep football prospects in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City Putnam three-star defensive end Collin Clay (6-5, 230) took his official visit to Fayetteville this weekend, less than two months after an unofficial opened his eyes about the Razorbacks.

“It was a great trip overall. I love the coaching staff,” Clay said. “Always showing love. Had a fun weekend overall (with) great hosts showing me around the city and just getting to get a feel on how things would go if I were to be here the next 3-4 years.”

The visit cemented Arkansas’ spot on Clay’s list and he notes a decision will most likely come in the fall on his college destination.

“Arkansas is at the top of my list right now,” Clay said. “My family and I love them. (It) put a very big impression for my family and I.”

Clay had 60 tackles as a junior with three sacks and two pass deflections.

He has offers from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Colorado, Duke, Houston, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, TCU and Tulsa.

Arkansas freshman defensive end David Porter was one of the hosts for Clay, one of the Razorbacks’ four official visitors this weekend.

Exploring Fayetteville was one of his highlights of the weekend.

“Just getting around the city with the hosts,” Clay said of his highlight of the visit. “Very good experience.”
