Arkansas 5, Texas Tech 1 - Final

What can you say about Arkansas pitching tonight? The Razorbacks struck out 17 Red Raiders and allowed only four hits - none after the third inning. Texas Tech entered the game top 10 nationally in most offensive categories, including fourth in batting average.

Barrett Loseke struck out the side in the ninth to close out the best performance of his career. He struck out 10 and retired all 13 batters he faced. And he did it in only 52 pitches.

Arkansas won despite stranding 13 runners, mostly in scoring position. The Razorbacks out-hit Texas Tech 10-4.

We'll have much more after the postgame interviews.

Arkansas 5, Texas Tech 1 - End 5th Inning

Jax Biggers and Grant Koch both doubled in the fifth, but the Razorbacks were unable to score any runs because Biggers had to hold up on Koch's long fly ball that was nearly caught by left fielder Grant Little. Hunter Wilson struck out for the second out of the inning and Eric Cole hit a line drive right to the second baseman to end the inning.

Arkansas has stranded eight runners. The Razorbacks are out-hitting the Red Raiders 10-4.

Arkansas and Texas Tech are just underway at Baum Stadium.

It is a beautiful night in Fayetteville, with temperatures in the 70s and sunny skies at first pitch. It is a decent-sized crowd, but a bit smaller than I expected for this game. Perhaps it will fill in throughout the night.

Arkansas will throw Jackson Rutledge, the 6-8 right-hander, tonight. Rutledge has a 2.08 ERA in 10 appearances this year.

Texas Tech will counter with right-hander Ryan Sublette, who has an 8.62 ERA in eight appearances.

The Razorbacks are without two starters tonight, second baseman Carson Shaddy and third baseman Casey Martin. Both are nursing what are believed to be minor injuries.
