Arkansas tops K-State in first exhibition

— Taylor Malham one-timed a goal in the 37th minute and Arkansas defeated Kansas State 1-0 Saturday night.

Malham, a sophomore midfielder, scored from about 15 yards out on a cross from freshman midfielder Maddie Ricketts. The Razorbacks out-shot the Wildcats 10-6, including 4-3 on goal.

The teams played three 30-minute periods in front of 341 at Razorback Field. It was the first of two exhibitions this month for Arkansas, which is scheduled to play at Nebraska next Thursday.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Beitz had three saves, in the 44th, 51st and 66th minutes. Beitz, who didn't enter the match until the second period, played just more than 43 minutes in goal for Arkansas. Freshman Alexis Bach started and played the entire first period, and more than 46 minutes overall.
