— Arkansas signed 20 players Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period that runs through the end of the week.

Of the 20 signees, 19 were verbally committed coming into the day. The addition was four-star cornerback Greg Brooks of Harvey, La., who signed with the Razorbacks after being verbally committed to Mississippi State for several months.

Brooks had offers from nearly half of the programs in the Southeastern Conference.

After Brooks' signing, Arkansas was ranked No. 12 in the Rivals.com national team recruiting rankings, and fifth in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M and LSU.

The Razorbacks' ranking includes verbal commits, seven of which did not sign with Arkansas on Wednesday, opting instead to wait until the February signing date. The Razorbacks expect to sign as many as 29 players overall.

Those Arkansas commitments choosing to wait until February include five ranked as four-star prospects by ESPN: tight end Hudson Henry of Little Rock (Pulaski Academy); receiver Treylon Burks of Warren; cornerback Devin Bush of New Orleans (Edna Karr); cornerback Adonis Otey of Murfreesboro (Blackman), Tenn.; and defensive end Dante Walker of Ellenwood (Cedar Grove), Ga.

The Razorbacks have 10 four-star signees or commits, according to ESPN. In addition to Brooks, those who have signed are quarterback KJ Jefferson of Sardis (North Panola), Miss.; defensive end Zach Williams of Little Rock (Joe T. Robinson); receiver Trey Knox of Murfreesboro (Blackman), Tenn.; and defensive end Eric Gregory, a Memphis native who attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
