Top JUCO defensive end commits to Razorbacks

Arkansas Coach Chad Morris landed the top-rated junior college defensive end in the nation Friday.

Dorian Gerald committed to the Razorbacks over Texas A&M and Florida during a signing ceremony in his hometown of West Florence, S.C. Gerald has spent the past two seasons playing at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Gerald, 6-3, 265 pounds, had more than 30 scholarship offers, including from Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU and Nebraska. He had no offers after high school or after a season at Palmetto Prep Academy.

Gerald, who is rated ESPN's No.1 defensive end and No. 4 overall junior college prospect, recorded 42 tackles, 10 sacks and 19 tackles for loss this past season at College of the Canyons.

He had 54 tackles, 12 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in his first season in junior college.

With Gerald's commitment, Arkansas has 17 players in the signing class of 2018.
