Chad Morris

-It's important that we get this thing started tomorrow in the right way.

-I've opened things up to Razorbacks of the past to come to practice anytime they'd like. We want them around and part of this.

-Morris said his main focus is just one day at a time. It's the way he operates. People kind of get a laugh out of "Hammer Down," but it has a meaning behind it. Morris said he considers it a lifestyle.

-There has been no resistance from the players.

-Morris said first and foremost he wants to create some depth, find out the best 11 on each side of the ball. He's not asking a guy to go out for 80 plays, he wants them to play 80 plays one at a time.

-Morris wants guys to learn to play fast, and learn the basic concepts of the offensive system. He is going to put in what the players can retain, whether its 20 percent or 50 percent.

-Defensively, Morris wants guys to be aggressive and play with great technique. He wants his defense to be a great tackling team.

-The first major scrimmage open to the media will be March 10.

-Special teams: Morris wants an elite unit. He said they've already started on special teams in meetings the last couple of weeks.

-Morris says Cole Kelley will begin getting the first reps at quarterback. "Right now, early on, it's a little too early to tell" as far as a starter.

-There are a lot of guys that have cut down on weight since the initial weigh-in. Morris said he feels like his guys are in better shape. The ones he's talked to, which is nearly every one of the guys, feel like they're arguably in the best shape they've ever been in.

-Right now there aren't any noteworthy position changes.

-As of today, Dylan Hays will get a lot of reps at center. So will Ty Clary.

-Arkansas will have a few guys limited. Austin Capps will be out for a little bit. He had surgery recently. Briston Guidry is on that list and Morris hopes to have him back later in the spring. Jared Cornelius and Chase Hayden are back. "They're all full-go."

-Once the guys get the terminology down, which they mostly do, that's when they'll start playing at a faster pace.

-Morris says the depth at tight end is exciting to him. He spent time in the tight end room a couple of days ago and spoke about the importance of that position. There's a lot of memory work the guys will have to have. Those guys are very vital to us.

-The spring game will be on March 7 and Arkansas will have two practices after that. "I've enjoyed starting spring early like this."

-Being around them every day is helping with relationship building. Morris has challenged his staff to get to know different things about players outside of football. Morris is challenging himself with that. It's important to be able to walk in a room, know something about a player and his family.

-Morris says there has been no other attrition/players exiting the program to report at this time.
