Noland wins Landers Award

— Greenwood quarterback Connor Noland won the Landers Award on Wednesday as the best football player in Arkansas.

Noland, a senior who has signed to play football and baseball for the Razorbacks, was presented the award during a banquet in Little Rock. He is the 10th Arkansas signee to win the award since 2000, and first since quarterback Ty Storey of Charleston in 2014.

He is the third Greenwood player to win the award, alongside former Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson (2007) and receiver Drew Morgan (2012).

As a senior, Noland led Greenwood to a 13-0 record and state championship in Class 6A, Arkansas' second-largest classification. He passed for 2,801 yards and 34 touchdowns, and rushed for 239 yards and 5 touchdowns.
