Foucha gets whole new perspective on Arkansas

Joseph Foucha

— As is often the case, Arkansas got football recruits on campus this weekend that left with a brand new perspective about the school and the city of Fayetteville.

One of those was New Orleans McDonogh 35 safety Joseph Foucha (5-11, 195), one of 11 official and unofficial visitors new Razorback head football coach Chad Morris and his staff hosted Friday through Sunday.

“It changed my whole perspective of the state of Arkansas,” Foucha said. “I wasn’t expecting to get the experience that I had. I was around a lot of fun people, met a lot of good people, and I got to see a lot of the state of Arkansas.”

Foucha, who was originally scheduled to be at Auburn this weekend before changing plans, had been recruited by Morris and his staff while at SMU.

“I built a relationship with the coaches at SMU, so the love is still there for the coaches and the new coaches they’ve brought to the program along the way.”

He had 68 tackles, 5 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and 15 pass breakups this season.

Foucha, who has visited SMU and now Arkansas, is still looking over several schools.

“I will visit Ole Miss, Arizona State and probably a few more schools that aren’t set up,” Foucha said. “I’ll probably get out and see some more schools.”

Arkansas is now in his top three after the visit, Foucha said. He also holds offers from Alabama, Florida State and Auburn.

“The visit helped Arkansas a lot, because this is my first time coming up and seeing it,” Foucha said. “They’ll definitely be up there in my top three along with Auburn and Arizona State.”
