What Mike Anderson said previewing Missouri

Mike Anderson, Arkansas head coach, makes a call in the second half against Texas A&M Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, during the game at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson recaps the win over Auburn and previews Missouri:

Mike Anderson

-It's hard to believe we're here. It feels like we just started. There's a lot at stake in this game, and our first meeting with Missouri was kind of a grind-it-out game.

-I'm sure it's going to be an electric atmosphere at Missouri for many reasons.

-The times we've had the chance to get to the SEC Tournament finals we've gotten the double bye. My take is obviously we want to continue to play good basketball and get better. That's our main focus. Missouri has protected the home court pretty good.

-On the possibility of Michael Porter Jr. playing: We'll prepare like we're preparing for everybody else.

-I think both teams are a lot different than the first time we played. Kassius Robertson, Jordan Barnett, Jordan Geist and Kevin Puryear have gained some experience. We're going to have to be able to knock shots down. Our bench has really developed. Gabe and Dustin are playing well and with some confidence. C.J. Jones and Darious Hall are playing with confidence as well.

-Jontay Porter is playing really well. He's a tough matchup because he can not only score on the inside, he can step outside as well. We have to make sure we can get those guys up and down the floor. It's going to be won in the paint.

-Daniel is gaining experience from playing different guys in this league and seeing how different teams approach him. His minutes are down but his productivity is up. He played 26 minutes the other night and played one of his best games against Auburn.

-The emotions are going to be running high at Missouri with it being Senior Day. The punches are going to come, you've got to be able to withstand about the first five minutes and just play basketball.

-It speaks volumes to the league with how not a whole lot has been decided in terms of seeding for the league tournament. The league leader has five losses, which tells you the strength of the league. But let's just see if we can get better. We just had a nice win at Alabama. Now it's a one-game season.

-Anderson on MPJ: "We're planning on him playing."

-We can't let them beat us to loose balls and 50-50 balls. Jordan Barnett is one of those effort guys and he's shooting the ball at a high clip from range. Jeremiah Tilmon has really played good at home, too.
