FAYETTEVILLE — Temperatures near 70 degrees and a name opponent brought Arkansas fans to Baum Stadium in droves Saturday.
There were a school record 13,472 tickets sold for the game against Southern Cal, breaking the record of 12,589 sold for a 2015 game against Mississippi State that was played the same day as the Razorbacks' spring football game.
Saturday's actual attendance was 10,732, five less than the official stadium capacity and 10th-most for a single game at Arkansas. It was the second-highest attendance for a Razorbacks nonconference game during the regular season, trailing only a 2009 game against then-No. 1 Arizona State. It also was the largest attendance for an Arkansas game played before the month of April.
The Razorbacks sold more than 5,700 season tickets this season, topping the program record previously set in 2013. Arkansas' per-game ticket sales are averaging 8,364 through seven games, which is second nationally behind LSU (11,112).
