2021 LR Parkview tight end Erin Outley shines early

Erin Outley

— There were very few 2021 prospects on hand at Nike's The Opening Dallas Regional last Sunday, but one of them is a rising star at Little Rock Parkview.

Patriots ninth grader tight end Eric Outley (6-4, 235 pounds), a second-team MaxPreps freshman All-American selection, is one of the state’s most talented young players.

“It’s going good,” Outley said. “I am working hard and trying to be the best one. There were some men out here today, but I’m not afraid. I will go against them every day.”

Arkansas is one of several schools that have showed very early interest in Outley, who credits Patriots head coach Brad Bolding in helping to get his name out.

“It’s amazing how the coaches have reached out during this process and my name is starting to get out there now,” Outley said. “Coach Bolding is really good about that and I appreciate it.”

Outley, who had 22 catches for 331 yards and five touchdowns last season, feels good about his skill level, but wants to continue to grow physically and improve his quickness.

“I feel good about catching the ball, running routes and my blocking,” Outley said. “I just want to keep getting stronger and faster. I want to be the best I can be so that I can compete to the best of my ability every play every game.”

He has a good impression of new Arkansas head coach Chad Morris and his staff.

“They are amazing,” Outley said. “I have really been impressed with them and I love it.”

Little Rock Parkview was 4-6 last season, but is expected to improve this season as Bolding, who took North Little Rock to state prominence, continues to work with the Patriots program.

“I think we are going to surprise a lot of people that are not expecting a lot from us,” Outley said.
