Morrilton QB meets with Arkansas coaches

Morrilton sophomore quarterback Jacolby Criswell.

Highly regarded Morrilton sophomore quarterback Jacolby Criswell visited Arkansas on Saturday.

He came away impressed with coaching staff and learned more of where he stood with the Hogs.

"I felt like it went pretty good," Criswell said.

Criswell (6-1, 205 pounds) has offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, South Alabama and Central Arkansas, and is drawing interest from numerous others including Arkansas.

"I kind of realize why they haven't offered me," Criswell said. "I would say around there they're basically about relationships. They want to build a relationship before they offer any quarterback so I say it will be a while before they offer. I understand why now."

Criswell completed 126 of 211 passes for 1,947 yards and 20 touchdowns, and threw 4 interceptions as a sophomore. He also rushed for 969 yards and 14 touchdowns on 146 carries.

He said he thinks an offer from the Razorbacks could come in the coming months.

"I wouldn't say I was frustrated I was curious why they haven't offered, but they like me lot, but now I kind of got some of that off of my shoulder," Criswell said.

Criswell felt comfortable while on the visit and was able to spend time with his half-brother, senior Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

"It felt pretty normal since I've been there before," Criswell said. "I felt like I was welcomed there than the other schools I've visited. Dre wants me to go up there. It felt pretty normal. I like the coaches a lot."

Greenlaw talked up Morris' track record with quarterbacks.

"He said that it would be a good fit," Criswell said. "He tells me where ever I feel like I need to go."
