NOTABLE Arkansas and Georgia could potentially play as many as two games Sunday if weather forces cancellations or postponements to the series. Here is more on the obscure, relatively new SEC rule that could come into play for the first time….The Razorbacks enter the weekend with a one-game lead in the SEC West. The Bulldogs were eliminated from contention in the SEC East when they lost two of three games against Florida last week, including a 7-6 series-opening loss in which Georgia blew a ninth-inning lead….Both D1Baseball.com and Baseball America project Arkansas and Georgia as top-eight national seeds in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs have not made the tournament since 2011 and have only been in the postseason twice since losing the national championship series to Fresno State in 2008….Georgia enters the series with a 21-5 record at Foley Field, while Arkansas is 5-11 in road games. Home teams have won 48 of 63 SEC series this season, and SEC teams have a combined home record of 326-105. The .756 home win percentage is nearly 10 points higher than last year when SEC teams had a home win percentage of .664….Arkansas is expected to play at least part of the series without starting catcher Grant Koch (sprained right ankle) and shortstop Jax Biggers (fractured left index finger). Sophomore Jack Kenley will fill in at shortstop and freshman Casey Opitz will catch….Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn and Georgia coach Scott Stricklin coached with one another on the USA Collegiate National Team in 2011 and against each other in the 2012 College World Series when Stricklin was head coach at Kent State. Arkansas won the game 8-1….The Razorbacks have won the past four series against the Bulldogs and five of the past six. Since 2010, Arkansas has a 13-4 record against Georgia.
