NO. 1 ALABAMA 24, NO. 18 MISSISSIPPI STATE 0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Josh Jacobs ran for a touchdown and caught a scoring pass and Alabama had its second straight shutout.

With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa still battling a gimpy right knee, the Crimson Tide (10-0, 7-0 Southeastern Conference, No. 1 CFP) turned to defense for another vintage performance.

The offense raced to a fast start but mostly stalled from there against the Bulldogs (6-4, 2-4) and the nation's No. 2 scoring defense.

Tagovailoa started the fourth quarter on a stationary bike after getting his right knee checked out in the medical tent following a hard hit. He didn't return and wasn't needed.

Fresh from a 29-0 victory over No. 9 LSU, the Tide defense hasn't allowed a point in nine-plus quarters. Alabama had five sacks and Mississippi State had four in a rough day for both quarterbacks.

Tagovailoa was 14 of 21 for 164 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also lost a fumble on a botched exchange with Damien Harris. Backup Jalen Hurts missed his second straight game with an ankle injury. Jacobs ran for 97 yards on 20 carries as Alabama. He scored on a 1-yard run and a 14-yard catch.

NO. 5 GEORGIA 27, AUBURN 10

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia struck for a pair of touchdowns late in the first half to take control and D'Andre Swift finished off Auburn with a 77-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter.

Swift rushed for 186 yards to power another big game by Georgia's running attack, which finished with 303 yards. Having already locked up a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game, the Bulldogs (9-1, 7-1, No. 5 CFP) couldn't afford to slip up against the Tigers.

The Bulldogs trailed 10-6 with the first half winding down. But, facing third-and-4 from the Auburn 14 and the prospect of bringing on kicker Rodrigo Blankenship for the third time, Jake Fromm connected on a TD pass to Tyler Simmons that pushed the home team ahead with 2:47 remaining.

Auburn (6-4, 3-4, No. 24 CFP) went three-and-out, taking only 47 seconds off the clock, and Georgia got a chance to add to its lead. Swift broke off a 24-yard run before two short completions left the Bulldogs facing fourth-and-3 at the Tigers 38.

Coach Kirby Smart let the clock run down before calling timeout with 29 seconds remaining. He passed on a long field goal attempt, and any thoughts that Georgia might be trying to lure Auburn offsides with a no-back alignment were dashed when Fromm took the snap and found Terry Godwin breaking free over the middle to make it 20-10.

TENNESSEE 24, NO. 12 KENTUCKY 7

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jarrett Guarantano threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Callaway on the final play of the first half and Darrell Taylor had four sacks for Tennessee.

Taylor also forced and recovered a fumble to help Tennessee (5-5, 2-4 Southeastern Conference) beat Kentucky (7-3, 5-3, No. 11 CFP) at Neyland Stadium for a 17th straight time.

Guarantano was 12 of 20 for 197 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown pass to Dominick Wood-Anderson that extended Tennessee's advantage to 24-0 in the third quarter.

NO. 19 FLORIDA 35, SOUTH CAROLINA 31

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Feleipe Franks silenced the home crowd twice after touchdown runs, seemingly sending a message after getting benched last week and booed earlier in the game, and Florida rallied to beat South Carolina to end a two-game losing streak.

Franks dived across the goal line on a fourth-down play from inside the 1 with 4:09 to play, putting the Gators (7-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference, No. 15 CFP) ahead for the first time. Florida overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to beat the Gamecocks (5-4, 4-4).

C.J. Henderson ended South Carolina's comeback attempt by picking off Jake Bentley's pass.

TEXAS A&M 38, OLE MISS 24

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond threw touchdowns of 21, 10 and 5 yards, and had a 1-yard touchdown run.

After being outscored 28-0 in the fourth quarter of consecutive losses to Auburn and Mississippi State, Texas A&M (6-4, 4-3 SEC) scored its first fourth-quarter points since Oct. 13 when Seth Smalls made it 24-21 with a 46-yard field goal early in the period.

Luke Logan missed a 22-yard field goal with just more than seven minutes left. The Aggies pushed the lead to 10 points when Mond found Quartney Davis on a 5-yard touchdown pass with about five minutes left.

Ole Miss (5-5, 1-5) got within a touchdown when Logan made a 24-yard field goal with about two minutes remaining.

An onside kick was called by Ole Miss after that, but A&M recovered it and Williams ran 46 yards for a touchdown on the next play to put the game out of reach.

Jordan Ta'amu threw for 373 yards and a touchdown for the Rebels, who lost their third straight game and have won just one conference game. A.J. Brown had 127 yards receiving and DaMarkus Lodge added 122 yards receiving with a touchdown.

Williams had 31 carries for 228 yards in his second 200-yard game this season to give him 1,159 this season.
