Hog fans remark on the size of the crowd for last week’s final home game of the season

Dudley Dawson: Solid crowd considering a 2-7 team playing in 40 degrees heading for the freezing mark.

Dfarris: We have the fan base, a sleeping giant. We just need a roster full of SEC talent to match that fan base and then it could be a lot of fun.

youdaman: Can’t wait ‘til we get really good and can sell out.

Matt Jones: Announced attendance of 48,950.

Dudley Dawson: 64,135 tickets distributed, 48,950 tickets scanned.

Army Hog: The fans show up for conference games. Proud the crowd showed up. I hope the recruits enjoyed the game and I hope the commit.

Neastarkie: My first game this year and I sat in the north end zone. Had a perspective of the stadium I’ve never had before. And a good spot to eyeball the size of the crowd. I guessed it to be high 50s or maybe low 60s. Student section was packed tight. Both lower bleachers were full. The east upper deck looked about 50 percent full. There were even several hundred in the student overflow at the top of the south end zone. … A lot of people were inside the club areas available to the fans in the north end zone. Fans trying to stay warm. Lots of TVs in there so it’s easy to see what’s happening on the field.

JacksonReid: Given the conditions and everything about this season it was a very good crowd.

Jhawg: There were not 25,000 empty seats. My guess is that there were at least 55,000-60,000 people there. The scanning process is done half-heartedly.

Woodhog14: Totally agree, This is the third game I’ve gone to where they didn’t even scan my ticket. They just waved us through as we showed our ticket. There were eight of us they did that to and at least 20-30 before me and 20-30 after me that they didn’t scan.

Fans thank the 2018 senior class

LDHog: Thanks guys for the early mornings, late nights and overall commitment to our beloved Hog Nation. All of us wish that you could have had a W for senior night, but nevertheless you are appreciated. I can’t imagine the emotions you’ve been through in your time on the hill. All the best guys in the last two games and in life.

youdaman: The kids played hard (against LSU). Very proud of them.

Marcm: Much appreciated. WPS!

SoArkHog: They deserve our gratitude for choosing the Hogs. None of them wants the program to have suffered in their time here and none would have wanted to play for two different head coaches and possibly several position coaches. They have done their best and I’m thankful they are Hogs.

Arkansas needs a win before the off-season starts

Hogmodo: We will be going against great quarterbacks and good defenses. Does this team at this point in the season have the ability to pull an upset on the road?

BobgHawg: I said after the first game that we would be lucky to win four. I wish.

Colorado Hog: I don’t see how they do much against MSU. Don’t know much about Missouri other than they have played well against and beaten some very good teams. That would indicate It will be very difficult.

LongTimeHog: If we win somehow, it would be one of the greatest upsets in Arkansas history.

daBoar: I don’t think the team “needs a win.” Neither do I think they’ll achieve a win during the next two weeks. But I do believe the team has won (achieved) during the year. Certainly the recruiting effort appears to be very good if not amazing. And, I also believe I’ve seen progress on the field. What the team needs more than anything is a good, strong, fast quarterback who can run this type of offense.

Jhawg: No way we go down to Cow College and get a win this year. Missouri will pass us into the ground with that secondary of ours.

Adgebg: Mizzou is our best shot. Not a good shot but may be doable if we don’t lose some starters against that monster defense the play this week.

Army Hog: I consider the Moo U. game to be the best chance for a win. They may throw an interception that could turn into a defensive score.

Score predictions for today’s game against Mississippi State

LDHog: Hawgs 24, Dawgs 18. That’s why we play them.

Razorwill: Their defense is as good or better than LSU’s. I just don’t see us scoring much on them. Their offense is about the same as LSU’s but with a power running quarterback that gives us fits. It’s all about loading up to stop the run and hoping he has a pitiful game throwing the ball. MSU 23, Arkansas 17.

Neasterkie: What the hell, I’ll predict this one for the Hogs. It’s my heart talking, not my head, but I’ll say Hogs 28, Dogs 24.

BobgHawg: 21-10 Bad Guys.

Jimbeau77: Mississippi State 23, Arkansas 18.

SD Hog: MSU 28, Hogs 10.

Holdenhogfield: 31-13, Bad Guys.

Jhawg: State has a terrible offense. The worst in the SEC. But they have a stout defense. They should beat us but it won’t be easy. Cow College 24, Arkansas 17.

JacksonReid: Mississippi State 34, Arkansas 14.

white25: Hail State 25. Arkansas 18.

SuiGeneris: State 31, Hogs 17. Fitzgerald gets loose a couple of times. State’s defense gives them a short field a couple of times.

Rockhawg: Limpert comes through. Hogs 16, Dogs 14.

youdaman: 31-13. Their defense is way too good for our offense.

GeneralHog: Arkansas 52, MSU 3. Yeah, I said it.

Lilhawg: I fear that Vegas has it about right. MSU 24, Hogs 14.

Austin hog: State 24, Hogs 10.
