Williams impressed with Arkansas' win over Indiana

— Arkansas not only took down Indiana at Bud Walton Arena on Sunday, but also made a favorable impression on its official visitor.

Kinston, N.C., power forward Dericko Williams (6-8, 215 pounds) was among those on hand to see sophomore center Daniel Gafford scored 27 points and grab 12 rebounds as the Razorbacks took down the Hoosiers 73-72.

“It was very exciting,” Williams said. “Both teams played hard. Daniel played his tail off. He made some great shots, but he’s got to make his free throws, but he is a great player.

“I loved it. It was a great environment. It was lit and I can see myself on that court.”

Williams’ visit moved him closer to making a decision between Arkansas, Houston, Washington and North Carolina-Greensboro.

Williams, who played his AAU basketball for CP3 in the Nike EYBL league this spring and summer, may sign before the early signing period ends Wednesday.

“I am going sign real soon,” Williams said. “I have visited all of them now.”

Williams arrived Friday and had to leave as soon as the game was over to catch a flight home.

“They have great facilities and the academic center is real nice,” Williams said. “I couldn’t have been more impressed. It is great place and I really like the coaches and the players.”
