Hogs add Southwest Baptist for basketball exhibition

Head coach Mike Anderson talks to the press Monday Oct. 1, 2018 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE — The second of Arkansas’ two preseason basketball exhibitions has been finalized.

According to the official team schedule, the Razorbacks will face Southwest Baptist University, a Division II program in Bolivar, Mo., on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in their final warmup prior to officially opening the 2018-19 season on Nov. 9 against Texas at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

Arkansas opens its preseason schedule on Oct. 26 against Tusculum (Tenn.) at 7 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas will play its annual Red-White game on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.

Mike Anderson’s club is scheduled to play all but one of its non-conference games on a TV or online broadcast this season. Its Dec. 15 meeting with Texas-San Antonio in North Little Rock is the exception because no network is televising the game and the Razorbacks do not independently broadcast home games that are played off campus.

Four nonconference games – Nov. 12 vs. California-Davis, Nov. 21 vs. Montana State, Nov. 23 vs. Texas-Arlington and Dec. 28 vs. Austin Peay – will air on the online-only SEC Network Plus, and three others – Dec. 8 vs. Western Kentucky, Dec. 19 vs. Georgia Tech and Dec. 22 vs. Texas State — will broadcast on SEC Network.

The Razorbacks’ return trip to Colorado State on Dec. 5 will tip off at 9 p.m, Central. The game will air on CBS Sports Network.

At least 14 of the Razorbacks’ conference games will be broadcast on SEC Network while matchups at Tennessee, Missouri and Kentucky could potentially be picked up by ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Arkansas’ game at Georgia on Jan. 29 will air on ESPNU.
