Texas D-lineman feels at home at Arkansas

Taurean Carter

— Defensive lineman Taurean Carter, who is a few weeks away from making his college decision, felt at home during his official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend.

"It was great. It felt like home,” Carter said. “It's nice out here, and it was pretty comfortable. I loved it.”

Carter, 6-3, 265 pound of Mansfield (Texas) Legacy, will announce his decision on Oct. 24 between Arkansas, Wisconsin and Michigan State. The Razorbacks staff has impressed him.

"The coaches treat us like family,” Carter said. “They take care of us and watch out for us. They actually need us instead of just wanting us. That's a big part of it, that they need us. I want to feel like family. I want to feel like myself.”

He’s looking forward to getting his college pick out of the way.

"It's a stress relief, just to get everything off of my shoulders,” he said.

Carter recorded 63 tackles, 14 for loss, 7 sacks, one quarterback hurry and a forced fumble as a junior. ESPN rates him a 3-star prospect and the No. 50 defensive tackle in the nation.
