Hogs among three teams for Carter

Arkansas defensive line target Taurean Carter is set to announce his college decision on Oct. 24.

Highly regarded defensive lineman Taurean Carter is set to announce his college decision Oct. 24 and after officially visiting the University of Arkansas, the Hogs appear to be in good shape.

"It was great. It felt like home," Carter said. "It's nice out here, and it was pretty comfortable. I loved it."

Carter, 6-3, 265 pounds, of Mansfield (Texas) Legacy, will choose from Arkansas, Wisconsin and Michigan State. An ESPN 3-star prospect and the No. 50 defensive tackle in the nation, Carter enjoyed hanging out with the coaches.

"The coaches treat us like family," Carter said. "They take care of us and watch out for us. They actually need us instead of just wanting us. That's a big part of it, that they need us. I want to feel like family. I want to feel like myself."

JC OL enjoys trip

Junior college offensive lineman Tim Anderson said he could see himself committing to the Hogs before his official visit to Fayetteville. He left with the same thought and will now talk it over with his family for a few days.

"I'm thinking about it," Anderson said. "Like I said, I love it here, so it's probably going to be an option for that."

Anderson, 6-5, 280 of Mission Viejo (Calif.) Saddleback College, has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Colorado State, Fresno State and others while drawing recent interest from California and Southern California.

He and his parents liked what they experienced on the trip.

"It surprised us," Anderson said. "Obviously, being from California, it's a different area. But I think we've all found that it's been great. The people are super nice. It's been very nice."

Anderson, who plans to graduate in December and enroll at his new school in January, enjoyed seeing the stadium and experiencing game atmosphere.

"Playing in the SEC, the fans out here are crazy and everyone is super loyal," said Anderson, who has officially visited Louisville. "It was really, really cool to see that."

Gregory visits UA

When defensive end Eric Gregory orally committed to Arkansas on July 23, he did so without visiting the Hogs. He was pleased with his decision after making an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend.

"Oh yeah, it met my expectations very well," Gregory said. "I loved it."

Gregory, 6-4, 270, 4.7 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. flipped his pledge from Memphis while also having scholarship offers from schools like Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and others.

"I came down here and started loving it even more," he said. "I committed again. I loved everything about it. Everything."

An ESPN 4-star prospect, Gregory was one of 10 official visitors for the weekend and he used the opportunity to get to know fellow defensive line commitment Enoch Jackson Jr. and defensive lineman Taurean Carter of Mansfield, (Texas) Mansfield Legacy.

"I've been talking to all of them," Gregory said. "They're some good boys."

Henry announcement

Pulaski Academy tight end Hudson Henry will announce his college decision on social media at noon on Thursday.

Henry, 6-5, 230 pounds, has more than 30 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Penn State, Stanford, Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Florida, LSU and others. He made an unofficial visit to Stanford over the weekend and had plans to visit the Hogs in the near future.

National recruiting analysts Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates Henry a 5-star prospect.

Henry is the younger brother of former Hog All American and Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry and Razorback sophomore linebacker Hayden.

Henry's father Mark was an offensive lineman for the Hogs from 1988-1991 and was an All-Southwest Conference center as a senior while his mother Jenny also attended Arkansas.

His grandfather Skip Coffman played basketball for the Razorbacks from 1957-1962.
