Williams leaves official visit with no doubt

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/THOMAS METTHE -- 8/31/2018 -- Robinson defensive end Zach Williams (56) tackles Rogers quarterback Hunter Loyd (3) during the first quarter of Robinson's win on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Charlie George Stadium in Little Rock.

Arkansas defensive end commitment Zach Williams has never doubted his decision to be a Hog and that remains the same after his official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend.

"I feel I made the right decision," Williams said. "I'm not doubting myself. I'm feeling really good."

Williams, 6-4, 230, 4.57 seconds in the 40-yard dash, picked the Razorbacks over 26 other scholarship offers from schools like Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Oregon, Florida, TCU, Oregon State and Louisville in July.

He's recorded 43 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a forced fumble for 5-1 Class 4A Joe T. Robinson. He enjoyed meeting other commitments and current players on the team.

"I got to meet my new teammates," Williams said. "I got to meet present players so it was nice."

While Alabama handled the Hogs 65-31, Williams and others came away impressed with the Arkansas offense.

"Not many people can score over 30 points on Alabama, so that was pretty good," Williams said.

Williams has officially been approved to enroll at Arkansas in January and will have the benefit of going through offseason workouts and spring practice.
