NOTEWORTHY: Arkansas’ last trip to Auburn resulted in the Razorbacks’ worst SEC loss ever, a 56-3 decision in October 2016. Auburn has won the past two games over Arkansas by a combined 85 points, which constitutes the Razorbacks’ second-worst two-year span against an SEC team. Arkansas lost 52-0 to Alabama in 2012 and 2013….Auburn coach Gus Malzahn and Arkansas coach Chad Morris are good friends dating to their days as high school coaches in the early 2000s. Malzahn won three state championships in Arkansas at Shiloh Christian and Springdale, and Morris won three state championships in Texas at Bay City and Lake Travis. Morris broke into the college game in 2010 at Tulsa, where Malzahn had been coordinator two seasons earlier. This is the first game in which they have met as opposing head coaches. The most recent meeting involving their teams came in 2011 when Morris was offensive coordinator at Clemson and Malzahn was offensive coordinator at Auburn. Clemson won 38-24….Auburn is coming off a 22-21 loss to LSU at home last week after LSU kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired. The loss snapped Auburn’s 13-game home win streak. Arkansas has not won at Auburn since 2012….The Auburn game is the first of four straight conference games for Arkansas, followed by a neutral-site game in Arlington, Texas, against Texas A&M, a home game against Alabama and a game against Ole Miss in Little Rock.
