FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas guard Keyshawn Embery-Simpson announced his transfer destination on Monday.

Embery-Simpson, a Midwest City, Okla., native, will transfer to Tulsa, according to a post on his Twitter account. The news comes four days after he entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal.

He is the first Arkansas player to transfer since eighth-year coach Mike Anderson was fired on March 26 and second to leave the program since the beginning of the season.

"I understand with any decision you can't please everyone," Embery-Simpson wrote. "This is a decision I'm happy with first and foremost, and I know those who whole heartedly support me are happy as well."

A four-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals out of high school, Embery-Simpson averaged 4.1 points on 34.6 percent shooting and 1.2 rebounds per game. He finished the season ninth on the team in minutes played at 14.6 per game.

Embery-Simpson reached double figures in scoring four times in 2018-19 - Colorado State, Austin Peay, Ole Miss, LSU. He added a then-career high 16 points in the loss to the Rebels and finished with 16 in Arkansas' win in Baton Rouge to open February.

He did not play in Arkansas' loss to Florida in the SEC Tournament with a left foot/ankle injury and played eight combined minutes in the Razorbacks' two NIT games against Providence and Indiana.
