Arkansas set to host talented prospects for Red-White game

Jerrin Thompson and Ja'Lynn Polk

— One of the best things Arkansas did in its 2019 recruiting process was get prospects on campus early.

That has continued with the 2020 process and is taking an official step forward this weekend as the Razorbacks host five official visitors, including one committed future Razorback.

With several unofficial visitors also expected on hand for Saturday’s Red-White game at 3 p.m., it gives Arkansas another opportunity to show off its program.

“Big weekend on the Hill!” Chad Morris tweeted Friday afternoon. “Spring game at 3 and some future difference-makers on The Hill. Can I get a WOOOOO PIG?”

The official visitors are Razorbacks cornerback commit Jamie “Greedy” Vance (5-11, 170) of New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr, the Lufkin, Texas, duo of wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (6-2, 185) and safety Jerrin Thompson (6-0, 172), Carthage, Texas, athlete Kelvontay Dixon (6-0, 173) and Carrollton (Texas) Hebron safety Darius Snow (6-2, 215), the son of former Michigan State star and NBA player Eric Snow.

Among the unofficial visitors are Bryant junior linebacker Catrell Wallace (6-6, 200), Austin (Texas) Westlake wide receiver Mason Mangrum (6-1, 175) and a bevy of junior tailbacks in Tulsa (Okla.) Edison’s Seven Morrison (6-0, 195), Helena’s John Oliver (6-0, 240), Houston North Shore’s John Gentry (5-10, 180) and Manor, Texas’ Tahj Brooks (5-9, 212).

There’s also a trio of Memphis Freedom Academy prospects in junior offensive lineman Chris Morris (6-4, 287), sophomore defensive lineman Terry Carter (6-1, 310) and freshman quarterback Tevin Carter (6-3, 205) and a junior college cornerback prospect in freshman Brian George (6-2, 190) of Highland (Kan.) Community College.

Carriere (Miss.) Pearl River Central junior tight end DJ Ruff (6-4, 238), Fayetteville junior linebacker Quade Mosier (6-2, 220) and the 2021 brother duo of linebackers Jai Jones (6-0, 215) and Jalen Jones (5-10, 195) of Dallas Oak Cliff are also expected.
