FAYETTEVILLE — A pair of Arkansas natives were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Monday.

Martin, from Lonoke, was named SEC Player of the Week following the Razorbacks’ three-game sweep of No. 2 Mississippi State over the weekend. Martin hit his eighth home run of the season and first career grand slam in Arkansas’ 12-5 win on Friday.

He also hit a three-run home run against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday. Martin batted .471 in four games last week and drove in 10 runs. He is hitting .295 this season and leads the team with 35 RBI.

Noland, a Greenwood native, earned a pair of wins last week against UAPB and Mississippi State, earning SEC Co-Freshman of the Week honors. He shares the award with LSU pitcher Cole Henry, who struck out 12 against Florida.

Noland went a career-long 7.2 innings against the Bulldogs on Saturday, scattering four hits and striking out five. He did not issue a walk in either start.

Arkansas returns to Baum-Walker Stadium this week for five games. The Razorbacks host Northwestern State for a Tuesday-Wednesday series before hosting Tennessee for a Friday-Sunday set.
