Former University of Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw made the tackle on the opening kickoff of the Senior Bowl on Saturday and went on to record three tackles for the victorious North team, which beat the South 34-24 at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

Greenlaw, a Fayetteville High School product and four-year starter for the Hogs, got an early mention midway through the second quarter. The NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said Oakland Raiders special teams coach Rich Bisaccia told him he liked the work Greenlaw put in on special teams during the week of practice.

In the third quarter, after the North had taken a 17-12 lead, Greenlaw dropped West Virginia fullback Trevon Wesco for a 2-yard loss in the left flats on a third-and-four pass from Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham.

Jeremiah praised Greenlaw for sprinting to the pass catcher, coming to balance and making “a great, great open-field tackle.”

Greenlaw, who is headed to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis next month, posted 1 1/2 tackles for loss.
