Arkansas beats Florida, extends SEC win streak

Arkansas extended its SEC winning streak to four games Sunday afternoon in Gainesville, Fla.

Malica Monk and Chelsea Dungee each scored 25 points as the Razorbacks beat Florida 83-73. The win snapped a five-game losing streak in the series and a string of five consecutive losses in Gainesville.

The Razorbacks have now won four straight conference games for the first time since 2012.

Arkansas (16-5, 5-2 SEC) overcame a slow start in which it made just 2 of its first 16 shots and trailed 19-7 after one quarter. The Razorbacks then scored 58 points in the second and third quarters and carried a nine-point lead into the fourth. Arkansas shot better than 78 percent (11/14) in the second quarter and followed it with a 12-of-18 performance in the third.

Monk and Dungee each scored 16 points in the second half on a combined 15-of-18 from the floor. Jailyn Mason also added seven second-half points, including one of Arkansas' three 3-pointers.

Funda Nakkasoglu led the Gators (5-15, 1-6 SEC) with 20 points on 6-of-17 shooting and 4-of-12 from 3-point range. Danielle Rainey finished with a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double and Kiara Smith contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and a game-high five assists.

Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena on Thursday when it hosts Georgia. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on SEC Network Plus.
