Lufkin's Polk continues to be impressed by Razorbacks

Ja'Lynn Polk

— Lufkin, Texas, three-star wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (6-3, 185) sees a bright future for Arkansas’ football program and thinks last season’s 2-10 mark was just a blip on the radar.

“They are making it happen,” Polk said. “They are making a big comeback from what they had last year. I saw practice today and they have a lot of great players out there.”

Polk, who has offers from Arkansas, Houston, Baylor, Illinois Kansas and Louisiana Tech among others, was on campus with around 80 players on hand Saturday for Arkansas’ Prospect Day.

Polk enjoyed visiting with Arkansas coach Chad Morris, running backs coach Jeff Traylor and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp on his trip.

“It was amazing,” Polk said. “I loved it. I love coach Traylor, coach Morris and coach Stepp. They are real good to me, show me a lot of love and I really love it here.”

Polk finished with 37 catches for 700 yards and 9 touchdowns as a junior and 40 catches for 667 yards and six scores as a sophomore.

“I feel good about mostly everything,” Polk said of the strengths of his game. “There are a few things I still have to work on - getting off the ball and stuff like that. Just little things that I can get fixed really easy.”

Polk said Arkansas, Houston and Baylor are his top three schools at the moment.

“I am narrowing things down and hopefully I will make my decision before football season starts,” Polk said. “I will have that done for sure.”
