Van Horn earns 1,000th Division I win

Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn calls the Hogs with members of the Razorbacks' 1979 and 2009 College World Series teams prior to a game against Tennessee on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Fayetteville.

With Arkansas' 9-1 victory over Kentucky on Sunday, Razorbacks head coach Dave Van Horn reached a career milestone.

The win was Van Horn's 1,000th in 25 seasons as a Division I coach. He is the ninth active head coach to reach 1,000 wins in Division I.

The NCAA recognizes 14 active coaches with 1,000 wins, but some have win totals that include time in lower classifications. Van Horn had 51 wins as a Division II coach at Central Missouri in 1994.

Counting his time as a junior college coach at Texarkana College, Van Horn has a 31-season career record of 1,265-615.

Van Horn is 680-375 in his 17th season at Arkansas. He previously spent five seasons at Nebraska and three seasons at Northwestern State.
