Forrest City guard Britt to sign with Razorbacks Published: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 PRINT E-MAIL Forrest City guard Marcus Britt has committed to become the first the signee for new Arkansas basketball coach John Pelphrey and will sign with the Razorbacks today, Fred Conley, sports editor of The Times-Herald in Forrest City, and Otis Kirk of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette confirmed Monday. Britt is a 6-3, 180-pound combo guard expected mainly at Arkansas to be used as a point guard. Sean McCurdy, a backup point guard the past two years at Arkansas, has been granted his requested release so he can transfer. Britt averaged 18. 5 points, 5. 0 assists and 6. 0 rebounds this past season for Forrest City, the state runnerup to Jonesboro. Britt scored 27 points in the State championship game.
Returning senior starting point guard Gary Ervin currently is unable to work out because of recent arthroscopic knee surgery. He is expected to start playing pickup games in June.
