Razorbacks tie for fourth place at Duck Invitational

The Arkansas men's golf team earned a share of fourth place at the Duck Invitational with a final-round 293 Tuesday. The Razorbacks began the day in fifth place and moved up one spot on the team leaderboard to claim its seventh top-five result in nine events played this season. Sophomore David Lingmerth finished the 54-hole tournament in a tie for 11 th place to lead the UA team.

Lingmerth opened Tuesday's final round in 33 rd place, but fired a two-underpar 70 to gain on the field and earn a share of 11 th place. The Tranas, Sweden, native finished the event with a five-over-par 221 to post the seventh top-20 result in his first season as a Razorback. Lingmerth was one of two golfers to card a final-round 70, the low round of the day. Tyler Simpson of Oregon State was the other golfer.

Arkansas placed two more in the top 15 as Sam Chavez and Jason Turner finished among of group of five tied for 15 th place. Chavez, who began the day with a share of fifth place, shot a fiveover-par 77 during the final round and posted a six-overpar 222 during the two-day event. The Razorback freshman has finished in the top 20 three times this season. Turner tallied a 74 score in each round of the Duck Invitational to claim the fifth top-20 result of his career.

Junior Andrew Landry tied for 25 th place with a nineover-par 225. He shared the standing with seven other golfers. This is Landry's lowest finish of the season; he tied for 24 th place at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate in October. Arkansas' fifth finisher was Will Osborne at 38 th place. The Razorback junior tied four other golfers with an 11-over-par 227 total.

The team from San Diego State maintained its Day-1 lead to win the Duck Invitational team title. The Aztecs finished the event nine over par, 11 shots ahead of second-place Oregon and Oregon State. Pacific's T. J. Bordeaux was the wire-to-wire leader and claimed the individual title with a six-underpar 210.
