J-Mee Samuels wins 100 at NACAC in Mexico Published: Sunday, July 20, 2008 PRINT E-MAIL Arkansas Razorback soonto-be senior J-Mee Samuels, a member of the men's track and field team, won the 100 meters at the 2008 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC ) Under-23 Track & Field Championships in Toluca, Mexico. A three-time All-American and 2007 IAAF World Championships participant, Samuels won his signature event with a blistering clocking of 10. 09 and a legal wind of 0. 3 meters per second. His time matches the second best he has ever run in an Arkansas uniform. Samuels advanced to the finals after running a prelim time of 10. 36 in the first heat. His prelim time was the third fastest heading into the finals. He was the top finisher from the United States in both the prelims and the finals. The NACAC Athletic Association's U-23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF ). Seventy-eight athletes have been named to the Team USA roster which was announced Wednesday by USA Track & Field.
