Long

The Razorbacks' athletic administrative structure was released by University of Arkansas director of athletics Jeff Long Tuesday through a UA press release.

Long, whose official title is vicechancellor and director of athletics, announced an executive staff including associate athletic director Bev Lewis, whose official title is vice chancellor and executive associate athletic director, and senior associate athletic directors Chris Wyrick, Jon Fagg and Matt Trantham, and associate athletic directors Tom Dorre and Kevin Trainor.

He also announced a senior staff including associate athletic directors Melissa Harwood-Rom, Tracey Stehlik, Chris Pohl, Marvin Caston, Matt Shanklin, Justin Maland, Sean Rochelle and Bill Smith.

Wyrick, director of external operations, Fagg, director of compliance, and Trantham, director of internal operations, all were hired by Long who replaced Frank Broyles as athletic director after Broyles' retirement to athletic director emeritus became effective Jan. 1.

Trantham's duties overlap some of the tasks formerly filled by Bill Gray, the longtime senior associate athletic director and former Razorback who retired July 30, and Jerry Pufall, another longtime senior associate athletics director leaving the UA to become the senior construction coordination manager for Wal-Mart.

Pufall, who begins Sept. 8 at Wal-Mart, served the Razorbacks for 12 years supervising construction and renovation projects and technology-related areas.

Lewis, formerly the Lady Razorbacks' athletic director, Dorre, Trainor, Harwood-Rom, Stehlik, Pohl, Caston, Shanklin, Maland, Rochelle and Smith all have served either in the Razorbacks or Lady Razorbacks administrations.

All work under one Razorback umbrella now with the merger of the men's and women's departments.

Trainor (media relations ), Dorre (business manager ), Shanklin (marketing ), Maland (facilities ), Rochelle (development ) and Stehlik (compliance ) continue with duties they did previously.

Undertaking new roles are Harwood-Rom, director of academic support which she assumed last spring, Caston, director of student life working along with Rodger Hunter counseling Razorback athletes, Smith, administrating Web sites, and Pohl, director for events.
