UA women finish 6th in golf tourney; soccer team falls to Auburn

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The 24 th-ranked University of Arkansas women's golf team rallied to finish sixth at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tenn., Sunday.

The Razorbacks counted back-to-back rounds of plus-three 291 s for an 885 (303-291-291 ) moving up the leaderboard from a first round 14 th-place start. Sophomore Kelli Shean finished with a career-best tie for eighth place with her best score as a Razorback at 216.

• • For the second time in as many games, the Arkansas soccer team (9-5-0, 2-4-0 ) took a lead only to see its opponent rebound for a 2-1 win. Abbey Wilburn put the Razorbacks ahead in the 50 th minute with her first goal of the season, but Auburn (7-6-2, 3-2-1 ) responded with a pair of goals from Katy Frierson to clinch the victory Sunday at Razorback Field. The loss is the fourth straight for Arkansas.

The University of Arkansas volleyball team picked up a Southeastern Conference win Sunday, downing Mississippi State in three sets in Barnhill Arena.

Arkansas (5-12, 2-5 SEC ) picked up the 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 win over State (6-12, 1-6 SEC ) getting their first straight-set win since Sept. 13.
