Recruiting trail bringing Hogs home

Disappointed in this article too. Petrino was an excellent recruiter and had brought in and was bringing in the talent needed to win and be successful. This doesnt mean the state of Arkansas does not have good players, because we do, however, we don't have enough talent in state to compete with the larger states in the SEC. The problem with previous smaller name coaches such as Houston Nutt and now current coach John L. Smith is they have to recruit more locally because those are the kids that will know them as coaches and who they can get to commit to Arkansas. They can't recruit nationally because they are unknown unlike Petrino.

The article is geared towards Petrino not recruiting in state talent. Do you want to win or do you want to sign all the players from in state? I think a combination of both is what leads to winning and Petrino clearly showed this with his philosophy.

LSU defeats Arkansas in walk-off fashion

Figures. What a disappointment. We might be over rated a bit.

Arkansas wows top-100 recruits

I agree with BOBV. Gibson probably wanted people to know the real reason and his situation.

Arkansas wows top-100 recruits

Everyone always wants insider info. Now you get some and people get offended. You can't please everyone Richard. Guys, if you know the required score of 840 and we already know he will not qualify, you can put two and two together and figure out the recruit scored less than 840 on his SAT.

LIKE IT IS: Intensity increases for ASU-UALR rivalry

I agree with dwp007. The Hogs have nothing to gain. I have lived in both Northeast and Northwest Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas will always have an advantage over the Northeast part of the state.

THE RECRUITING GUY: Tight end likes what he sees from Hogs’ offense

Probably has to do with his grades.

Arkansas Falls in Overtime at South Carolina

I know we were playing on the road, but thses refs missed many calls and there were also many questionable blocks/charges calls as well. Sad thing is we played good enough to win the game, but not good enough to beat the refs too. We also missed to many free throws in this game and all other games to this point. Pel needs to work on these in practice. All in all, terrible officiating.

Sanchez Out 6 Weeks

Looks like if we are short one scholarship for the incoming class of 2011, this would be a great place to look at cutting to free up a spot. I feel sorry for the man and his injuries, but we are paying his way in school to play basketball... And he can't seem to stay healthy enough to do that.

Auburn defeats Arkansas, 65-43

I think our defense played well, but had a let down from the so called fumble by Green late in the game. The head ref for this Auburn game was the same ref from the Florida game last year. This also cost us the game by points and momentum. We had recovered from the goal line fumble by Auburn, but could not from the late fumble by Green. We were down 2 points and storming down the field to have the go ahead score. Thanks refs. I am sure they will slap them on the wrist Monday like last years Florida game and say " Sorry Arkansas, that was the wrong call" Little help that does for us though. Very disapointed.

Green goes 99, just like in ’09

Scary thing is, this was probably our first team defense. Good and bad.
